Medalist in Columbus Van Rooyen earned a spot in this years U.S. Open after going 13-under par Monday in the U.S Open Final Qualifying event in Columbus.

Impact The Columbus final qualifying site hosted a number of top PGA Tour stars, with names like Max Homa, Rickie Fowler and Cameron Young all attempting to qualify for this years U.S. Open. However, it was Van Rooyen whose name came out on top when the final putt was made Monday evening. In this two qualifying rounds, Van Rooyen made a total of 14 birdies, including four straight birdies in his last five holes to close out his final round. In fact Van Rooyen only dropped shots on three of his 36 holes.
