Barely misses cut at Birkdale Hillier missed the cut by one stroke at The Open Championship following an even-par 70.

Impact Hillier needed to gain one stroke Friday after opening the tournament with a two-over 72 score Thursday. Unfortunately for the New Zealander, he went two-over on the front nine before getting those two strokes back on the back, and he was unable to sink the 15-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole that would have qualified him for the weekend. Hillier has now missed the cut in each of his last four tournaments, including at both the Open d'Italia and BMW International Open on the DP World Tour. How he does moving forward on the DP World Tour is crucial, given that he's 17th on the Race to Dubai Rankings, with those who end the season in the top-10 (otherwise note exempt) earning a PGA Tour membership for the 2027 season.

Sunk by Thursday 75 Hillier missed the cut by eight strokes at the Genesis Scottish Open following a one-over 71 in the second round.

Impact Hillier dug himself in an early hole with a five-over 75 in the first round, when he carded a double bogey, six bogeys and three birdies. He connected on only five of 13 fairways (38.5 percent) on Thursday, and he ranked 152nd out of 156 players in SG: Around-the-Green. The New Zealander will look to bounce back next week at The Open Championship, where he's missed the cut in three of four prior outings at golf's oldest major.

Impact Hillier steadily moved up the leaderboard over the weekend with back-to-back 65 rounds to secure his fifth top-10 finish of the DP World Tour (and first since his T4 at the Bahrain Championship in February). He led the field in SG: Tee-to-Green while ranking second in both par-4 scoring and driving accuracy, third in SG: Off-the-Tee, fifth in GIR, eighth in SG: Approach and 10th in par-3 scoring, though he also finished 107th in SG: Putting. Hillier will tee off at the KLM Open in Amsterdam next week.

Impact Hillier started and ended the tournament with rounds of 66, which was enough for him to record his fourth top-six finish in five DP Tour events in 2026. He ranked near the bottom of the field in driving accuracy and SG: Around the Green but ranked in the top-5 in SG: Approach and SG: Tee to Green. Hillier sits fifth in the Race to Dubai Rankings with 838.40 points heading into next week's Qatar Masters.

Solo second at Dubai Invitational Hillier fired a bogey-free, six-under 65 in the final round of the Dubai Invitational to finish in solo second, one stroke behind winner Nachio Elvira.

Impact Hillier put together a fantastic final round in Dubai, highlighted by his eagle on the par-5 13th. He was one of five players to share the lead at nine-under on the back nine, but he wasn't able to match Elvira's birdie on the par-4 17th. It was a strong performance from Hillier, who was close to capturing his second victory on the DP Tour (and first since January of 2023 at the Betfred British Masters), and he finished the Dubai Invitational third and eighth in the field in SG: Approach (1.65) and SG: Off the Tee (0.61), respectively. Hillier will be in the field for the Hero Dubai Desert Classing that tees off Thursday.
