Impact Hoffman underwent surgery to remove a benign lipoma on his right shoulder in late July, but he'll return to competition this week at the DP World Tour's Crown Australian Open for his first tournament appearance since placing 67th at the RBC Canadian Open back in early June.

Set to undergo shoulder surgery Hoffman will have surgery Wednesday to address a lipoma on his right shoulder, according to his personal Instagram account.

Impact Hoffman will have the benign tumor removed this week, but he plans to return for the 2026 PGA Tour season. His 2025 campaign ends with four top-25s and eight cuts made in 15 events, highlighted by a T5 at The American Express back in January.

Withdraws from Rocket Classic Hoffman (undisclosed) has withdrawn his name from the field for this week's Rocket Classic, Rob Bolton of PGATour.com reports.

Impact Hoffman most recently placed 67th at the RBC Canadian Open in early June, but he's elected to skip the Rocket Classic while alternate David Ford takes his spot in the field.

Impact Hoffman withdrew from this past week's Valspar Championship after just eight holes due to a back injury, but he's slated to peg it again this week at Memorial Park.

Impact Hoffman is the third golfer to withdraw either before or during the Valspar Championship, after Paul Waring and Patton Kizzire. Like Kizzire, it is a flared back holding Hoffman up, and there is no immediate timetable for his return to tournament action from said injury.

Teeing it up at Sawgrass Hoffman (undisclosed) is listed in the field for THE PLAYERS Championship this week.

Impact Hoffman withdrew prior to last week's Puerto Rico Open after notching his third top-25 of the season at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, but he'll peg it this week at TPC Sawgrass where he's previously made the cut in nine of 16 career appearances.

Impact Hoffman will withdraw from Puerto Rico following a top-25 finish at the Cognizant Classic. The 48-year old recorded a top-5 finish at The American Express in January but was coming off back-to-back missed cuts at the Mexico Open and Phoenix Open prior to the Cognizant.

Impact Hoffman has now missed the cut in back-to-back starts since placing T5-T25 at The American Express and the Farmers Insurance Open, dropping to 67th in the FedExCup standings. He made 10 birdies across two rounds at Vidanta Vallarta last week, but Hoffman also lost 2.66 strokes putting and another 1.69 strokes off the tee. He'll peg it again this week at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches where he's missed the cut in two prior PGA National appearances.

Impact It is unknown why Hoffman is out for the Pebble Beach Pro-AM, but that puts his January to a screeching halt. Even though he suffered a setback at the Farmers Insurance Open, Hoffman finished fifth place in The American Express earlier this month.

Impact Hoffman was trying to give leader Sepp Straka something to think about after starting four-under through his first eight holes. That all really feel apart with a triple-bogey on the par-3 13th hole, however. It was a disappointing situation, but not indicative of how he played throughout the rest of the week. Hoffman filled it up on the greens and showed that he can still be competitive at age 48. He had five top-12 finishes last year and this T5 finish is a great way to get some momentum rolling in 2025. He will be eager to get back home and tee it up at the Farmers Insurance Open next week. Hoffman has 26 previous starts in the event.
