Slips to T51 after Sunday 74 Putnam carded a three-over 74 in the final round of the John Deere Classic to finish tied for 51st.
Impact Putnam was 11-under through the first three rounds and was sitting just outside the top-10 of the leaderboard heading into Sunday. He was even through the front nine of the final round but was sunk by back-to-back double bogeys on the 14th and 15th holes, and he's now finished outside the top-50 in four of his last five tournaments (including T55 at the PGA Championship and T65 at the U.S. Open). Putnam was one of the better performers on the green at TPC Deere Run, gaining 4.79 strokes with his putter (ninth) while also ranking seventh in feet of putts made and 26th in SG: Approach. However, he also lost 5.54 strokes off the tee, which was dead last out of the 79 players who made the cut. Putnam will tee off next week at the Genesis Scottish Open, where he's missed the cut in each of the last two years following his T42 in his event debut in 2023.

Earns last spot in final qualifying Putnam will play in the U.S. Open next week at Shinnecock Hills after advancing through final qualifying in Creswell, OR.
Impact Only two spots were available for this qualifier in Oregon and Putnam was able to secure the last spot. It was by no means easy as he battled rainy and windy conditions to post three-under-par. It was matched by Spencer Tibbits and the two players went to a playoff after Greyson Leach earned medalist honors at four-under-par. Putnam and Tibbits played six playoff holes on Monday night before they were forced to call it for the day due to darkness. After three more playoff holes on Tuesday morning, Putnam finally outlasted Tibbits to secure his sixth U.S. Open appearance. Putnam will have a busy week as he is slated to compete at the RBC Canadian Open that will tee off Thursday morning before heading the following week to Shinnecock.

Even-par over final three rounds Putnam finished tied for 17th at the Charles Schwab Challenge after recording a six-under cumulative score.
Impact After withdrawing from THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, Putnam opened things up at Colonial Country Club nicely with a bogey-free, six-under 64. However, he was unable to carry that momentum for the rest of the tournament, carding three-consecutive rounds of 70. He led the tournament in SG: Around-the-Green, gaining 6.81 strokes in that category, while also ranking first in bogeys and scrambling and 21st in SG: Putting. However, he also finished dead last in driving distance and 73rd in SG: Off-the-Tee (minus-4.54 strokes). It was the fourth top-20 finish of the season for Putnam and his best performance since his T5 at the Valero Texas Open. He's an alternate for the Memorial Tournament next week.

Impact Putnam gets a spot in the sixth Signature Event of the season after Collin Morikawa withdrew on Monday morning. Putnam was originally scheduled to tee it up at the alternate field event in Myrtle Beach, but will gladly move up to the more lucrative event in the final tournament before the PGA Championship. Putnam finished T18 at the Cadillac Championship.

Fourth in SG: APP at RBC Heritage Putnam carded a one-under 70 on Sunday at the RBC Heritage to finish six-under and tied for 42nd.
Impact Putnam ranked fourth among the Signature Event field in SG: Approach at Harbour Town, and he's now gained over five strokes with his irons in back-to-back starts. However, he also lost three strokes off the tee this past week, and his putter cooled off after gaining a collective 11.4 strokes on the greens from the Valspar Championship through the Valero Texas Open. Putnam now looks ahead to the Zurich Classic of New Orleans where he'll pair with Austin Smotherman in the two-man team format.

Cracks top-5 at Valero Putnam posted a 15-under cumulative score at the Valero Texas Open to finish tied with Ludvig Aberg for fifth.
Impact Putnam was one of a handful of players jockeying at the top of the leaderboard during the final round. He needed a birdie on the par-5 18th to tie J.J. Spaun at the top of the leaderboard, but Putnam's third shot ended up finding the green-side bunker, eventually leading to a bogey. It wasn't the finish that Putnam was hoping for, but the 37-year-old American now has two top-5 finishes to his name this season and has made the cut in five consecutive Tour events. He ranked in the top-5 in the field in SG: Putting, SG: Approach, birdies made, driving accuracy and scrambling. Putnam is not in the field for The Masters next week.

Impact Putnam showed some improvement in THE PLAYERS Championship, scoring two-under par. He will look to continue the positive momentum as a replacement for Robert MacIntyre (undisclosed).

T44 at Bay Hill Putnam closed with a one-over 73 on Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational to finish two-over and tied for 44th.
Impact Putnam's final round at Bay Hill was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 16th hole where he stuck an approach shot within 15 feet of the cup from 222 yards out. He ultimately finished the Signature Event ranked top-15 among the field in both SG: Approach and SG: Around-the-Green, though he lost 4.9 strokes off the tee and another 2.3 strokes with the flat stick. Putnam has now placed just T44-MC-MC since his T2 at The American Express, but he'll be in attendance again this week for THE PLAYERS Championship.
MARCH 10 • ROTOWIRE
MC at Cognizant Classic Putnam recorded a 36-hole score of three-over-par to miss the cut at last week's Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches by three shots.
Impact Putnam lost 2.04 strokes off the tee and another 2.92 strokes putting en route to four bogeys and two doubles across his two rounds at PGA National, ultimately missed a second consecutive cut since his T2 at The American Express. Nonetheless, he qualified for the upcoming Arnold Palmer Invitational via the Aon Swing 5, and Putnam tied for eighth during his most recent Bay Hill outing in 2024.
MARCH 2 • ROTOWIRE
First top 5 on Tour since 2023 Putnam finished in a share of second place at The American Express after shooting a four-under 68 in the final round.
Impact Putnam had quite the ride this week. He began with an even-par 72 in the first round, but followed with a 12-under 60 in the second round. Putnam's bid for 59 just slid by on his final hole at La Quinta Country Club on Friday. After a strong 65 in round three, Putnam put himself only a few shots back of the lead. After bogeying his first hole on Sunday, Putnam then rallied with six birdies to close the front-nine. He was tied for the lead with Scottie Scheffler at one point, but bogeys on 10 and 13 did in his chances to win as Scheffler continued to rack up birdies. Putnam will be playing off of conditional status this season, so a strong T2 finish early in the season could go a long way. This was his first top-5 finish anywhere since late 2023. Putnam will be in the field for next week's Farmers Insurance Open.
