Still limited in spring Nixon (foot) remains a limited participant in Syracuse spring practice despite being able to run around once again, per Syracuse.com.

Impact The tailback was lost for Syracuse's 2024 season in September, suffering a Lisfranc injury in Week 5. Nixon has reportedly been able to run around once again, and recently had screws removed from his left foot, indicating he's progressing with his recovery. Still, he's been a limited participant in spring ball and is not guaranteed to participate this spring. He's also wearing a non-contact jersey at this point in practice. The tailback figures to compete with Yasin Willis and Jaden Hart for the starting gig, but he won't be able to truly enter that competition until he's a full go.

Out for season Nixon (foot) is out for the remainder of the 2024 season, Chris Carlson of The Syracuse Post-Standard reports.

Impact Nixon suffered a Lisfranc injury in the Orangeman's Week 5 win over Holy Cross, an injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season. He appeared in three games this season and he rushed 19 times for 76 yards and caught four passes for four yards. Due to him playing only three games, he could save a year of eligibility with a medical redshirt.

OCTOBER 10, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Could be out a while Nixon could be out for a while due to his foot injury, Chris Carlson of Syracuse.com reports.

Impact Nixon suffered his foot injury during Syracuse's game Saturday against Holy Cross. As a result, he will sit out the SU-UNLV matchup scheduled for Oct. 4. However, Carlson confirming Nixon being unavailable 'a little while' indicates more than one DNP may be needed from Syracuse's injured junior.

Returns to action Saturday Nixon (undisclosed) ran for 29 yards on seven attempts while catching his only target for nine receiving yards in Syracuse's 42-14 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.

Impact Nixon missed last week's matchup against Stanford with an undisclosed injury, but he made a rapid enough recovery to make his return to the field against Holy Cross. The redshirt junior running back has run for 76 yards on 19 attempts through three games in 2024, adding four catches for 44 yards through the air as well. Nixon's next opportunity will come when the Orange travel to face UNLV on Friday.

SEPTEMBER 29, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Dressed out Saturday Nixon (undisclosed) is dressed out for Saturday's contest against Holy Cross, Aiden Stepansky of the Daily Orange reports.

Impact Nixon seems slated to make his return to action after sitting out last week's contest against Stanford. Assuming he's available, he should rotate in behind LeQuint Allen and could receive some extra run against what figures to be an overmatched Holy Cross squad.

SEPTEMBER 28, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Warming up early Nixon (undisclosed) is going through early warmups ahead of Saturday's game against Holy Cross, Chris Carlson of The Syracuse Post-Standard reports.

Impact Syracuse's backfield depth could get a boost if Nixon is available. Nixon was unavailable against Stanford but has 12 carries for 47 yards on the year. His presence for early warmups is a good sign that he will be able to play Saturday.

SEPTEMBER 28, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Not playing Friday Nixon (undisclosed) is out for Friday's game against Stanford, Emily Leiker of Syracuse.com reports.

Impact Nixon is out for the Orange as he wasn't in pads while his team was doing the warm-ups. Nixon has racked up 47 yards on 12 carries across two appearances this season. He'll aim to return when the Orange take on Holy Cross on Sep. 28.

SEPTEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Solid day as backup Nixon recorded nine rushes for 38 yards and hauled in their only target for 20 yards during Saturday's 31-28 win over Georgia Tech.

Impact Nixon was the clear backup to LeQuint Allen, but that didn't stop him from cracking the 50-yard mark in terms of all purpose yards. His rushing output could've been more efficient, but his 20-yard catch helped salvage his day somewhat. He's still the clear second fiddle to Allen in the Syracuse backfield, and that shouldn't change anytime soon.
