Returning to Vandy as TE Taylor will transfer back to Vanderbilt as a tight end, per The Tennessean.

Impact Taylor started his career at Vanderbilt as a quarterback, and played a handful of snaps at gunslinger in Nashville in 2023. After signing with Ball State and failing to get involved with the Cardinals, he'll head back to the Commodores, switching positions to play in Vanderbilt's tight end room.

Impact 2024 included Kadin Semonza as Ball State's primary quarterback. But now that he is part of the transfer portal, BSU's team requires a new QB1. Even though Taylor has logged fewer than 50 passing yards, they are still more than those recorded by any of Ball State's other quarterbacks, with Aidan Leffler being the closest at six.

Impact Taylor will depart from Vanderbilt after spending the last two seasons with the program. The 6-foot-7 sophomore appeared in five games this season, throwing for 44 passing yards (5-for-15) and one interception. Taylor also added on 102 yards on the ground this season.

Listed as co-starter Taylor is listed as a co-starter for Vanderbilt's game Saturday against Auburn, Aria Gerson of The Tennessean reports.

Impact Taylor and Ken Seals are listed as co-starting quarterbacks. The latter was ineffective during Vanderbilt's latest game, resulting in the former serving as a relief option. Even though he was not so great, Seals' unimpressive output in October may have been enough to push head coach Clark Lea's decision to consider Taylor as a starter should AJ Swann (elbow) not be ready.

Replaces ineffective starter Taylor was 4-for-12 passing for 38 yards and one interception during Saturday's 33-7 loss versus Mississippi. He also had 20 rushes for 59 yards with one touchdown.

Impact Taylor replaced the ineffective Ken Seals, who completed 4-of-8 passes for just 22 yards and a pick of his own. Taylor was not much better in terms of throwing the ball, but did flash his dual-threat ability with the touchdown on the ground. Taylor is likely to at least get a chance against Auburn this weekend.
