Steps up vs. UTEP Teu accrued 20 rushes for 156 yards and two touchdowns and reeled in his only target for two yards during Saturday's 24-11 win over UTEP.

Impact With Jabari Bates (undisclosed) and quarterback Luke Weaver (undisclosed) both unavailable Saturday, Teu stepped up as the bellcow for the Spartans. The redshirt junior logged his first two touchdowns of the season in the third quarter -- he punched in a two-yard score before breaking off a 67-yard run to extend San Jose State's lead to 21-0. Coming into the day, Teu had totaled just 14 carries for 86 yards while backing up Bates in his first six games. Even if Bates does return next week against Nevada, Teu looks to have earned an expanded role in what's been a more run-friendly offense this year.
