Pulls in rivalry game Hedden went 7-for-19 for 106 yards and two interceptions against New Mexico on Saturday. He also lost a fumble.

Impact Hedden was pulled for Adam Damante eventually, and it's not hard to see why. Not only did Hedden have a horrendous game, this was his second game in a row with multiple interceptions and a lost fumble. The job may be Damante's to start NMSU's next game.

Sloppy in the islands Hedden went 19-for-35 for 256 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions on Saturday against Hawaii. He ran for 14 yards, fumbled three times, and lost one fumble as well.

Impact Going to Hawaii can be a hurdle for players, but Hedden was too sloppy to blame it on the travel. If you care about QBR, he had a 9.7 QBR, but he's thrown five touchdowns against three picks on the season and has a chance to rebound against New Mexico.

Throws two TDs Hedden went 11-for-20 for 253 yards and two touchdowns against Mercyhurst on Saturday.

Impact NMSU played in Week 0, so this is Hedden second start of the season, and his second start at the FBS level. This wasn't a great game given the opponent, but also this was a blowout and the backups were in by the end of the game, so in theory Hedden could have had better numbers.

Two TDs, INT in NMSU debut Hedden went 26-for-42 for 272 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception against FSU on Saturday.

Impact This is impressive for Hedden in his FBS debut, especially given the opponent. However, be cautious. At Furman, Hedden was a statue in the pocket (he had minus-21 rushing yards in this game) and was heavily prone to turnovers.

Wins starting QB job Hedden was named New Mexico State's starting quarterback, according to Nick Coppola of Las Cruces Sun-News.

Impact This settles New Mexico State's quarterback competition after Hedden had been in a three-way battle for the job. His designation as the starter puts him atop the depth chart entering the season, with NMSU opening the campaign against FSU on Aug. 29.
