Leads UAB in receptions Mims reeled in four of six targets for 52 yards during Thursday's 42-23 loss versus Illinois.

Impact Mims, in his first return to the field since 2024 with Southern Mississippi, led UAB with four receptions and six targets Thursday night. The passing attack was spread out, as he was one of nine different pass catchers to record a reception. The transfer wideout will look to continue establishing himself as a reliable target in a revamped receiving corps.

Impact Mims didn't appear in a game in 2025, and he'll get a fresh start at UAB for his senior campaign. The wideout had three productive seasons at Southern Miss before the one-year hiatus, logging at least 375 receiving yards and 24 receptions in each season.

Impact Mims, who has not played so far this season, is now off the injury report ahead of Week 12. It's still unlikely he sees the field though as he hasn't played regardless of his status on the weekly availability reports.

Impact Mims will make the move to Texas State after spending the last three seasons with Southern Miss. During his time with the program, the 5-foot-9 junior tallied 96 receptions for 1,207 yards and six touchdowns. Mims will look to secure a role with the Bobcats this fall.

Impact Mims has been as consistent a wideout as anyone can get. For each of his three seasons, meaning Mims enters the transfer portal as a junior, he logged 350-to-450 yards and at least one touchdown.

Impact Mims' first touchdown of the 2024 campaign came in his 12th and final game, catching a four-yard pass from Tate Rodemaker in the fourth quarter. He'll finish the season with 33 catches on 62 targets for 383 yards.

Impact Mims caught six of the Golden Eagles' 12 completed passes Saturday and was the only wide receiver to have multiple receptions. He's caught 16 passes for 194 yards and no touchdowns through four games.

Impact Mims was expected to be the Golden Eagles' top wideout in 2024 but combined for four catches and 23 yards in the team's first two games. The Junior finally showed the flashes we saw in 2023 on Saturday, logging multiple big gains and pacing Southern Miss in receptions and receiving yards.
