The negatives: he was benched in Week 11, and didn't exactly take that the best way, immediately announcing his intention to transfer. He'll get a fresh start with a Seminoles team that badly needs to hit on a transfer portal quarterback after the D.J. Uiagalelei experiment failed miserably in 2024.

He's not officially in the portal yet, but it seems as though he's played his last snap for Boston College. Grayson James figures to take over at gunslinger.

Impact The announcement comes not long after Castellanos was benched and Grayson James was named starter for Boston College's game Saturday at SMU. Week 11 was clearly a rough one for Castellanos, who not only suffered a lower-body injury but also got demoted after completing just two passes, throwing an interception and logging four total yards of offense.

Impact Castellanos bounced back after a couple down games. He used his legs much more on Friday with 15 rushes which opened things up a bit in the passing game as he tossed three touchdowns.

Solid day in loss to VT Castellanos was 17-for-26 passing for 205 yards and two touchdowns during Thursday's 42-21 defeat versus Virginia Tech. He also had 20 rushes for 58 yards.

Impact After two interceptions and no rushing output in the last contest against Virginia, Castellanos bounced back with two passing touchdowns while staying clean and not throwing an interception. Castellanos also got back to doing things with his legs as he added 58 rushing yards after four straight weeks with less than 20 yards rushing.

Impact Castellanos will have the week off after suffering an injury against Michigan State last week, paving the way for Grayson James to make his first start for the Eagles. It is unknown what injury the junior quarterback is suffering from, or what his expected return timetable is. Castellanos threw for 729 yards (45-of-70), 10 touchdowns and two interceptions across Boston College's first four games, adding on 112 yards and one score with his legs

Low output in win Castellanos was 10-for-16 passing for 140 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 23-19 victory versus Michigan State. He also had 15 rushes for 15 yards.

Impact Castellanos had a bit of a down day in terms of output as the Eagles threw the ball just 16 times and running backs Treshaun Ward and Turbo Richard combined for 148 yards and two touchdowns in the running game. The great play from the running backs was a major reason for the low output day in the BC win over Michigan State.

Impact Boston College wasn't able to get much of anything going on the ground against the tough Missouri front as they averaged just 1.9 yards per carry as a team. Castellanos made up for the lack of production on the ground by picking up just under 250 yards and accounting for all three BC touchdowns though the air.

The uber athletic quarterback threw for an average of 23.4 yards per attempt while finding the end zone four times.
