Mistake-prone in conference opener Angeli was 24-for-49 passing for 306 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions during Saturday's 21-18 defeat to California. He also had six rushes for negative four yards.
Impact Angeli put up plenty of passing yards, which was nice, going over 300 passing yards for the third time in his past five starts at Syracuse. However, his three interceptions also marked a career worst. He won't have long to dwell on the mistakes, as he and the Orange travel to Pittsburgh on a short week Thursday.

Opens with three TDs vs. UNH Angeli completed 20 of 29 passes for 263 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions during Saturday's 66-3 win over New Hampshire.
Impact Angeli was making his first start since suffering a torn Achilles tendon last September, and he looked very good. He wasn't necessarily mobile, but that wasn't part of his game even before the injury. He had a nice rapport with Umari Hatcher, hooking up for a pair of touchdown passes. The good news is that Angeli took some big hits in the game, he withstood those hits, and made it through the game with no ill effects of his previous injury.

With QB Steve Angeli healthy, Fran Brown-coached Syracuse seeks to rebound from 3-9 season

Expectations are mixed at best regarding Syracuse's football program, which essentially resembles Fran Brown’s first two seasons coaching the Orange

Practicing with team Angeli is back in the huddle at practice, per the team's X account.
Impact Angeli has been recovering from an Achilles tear that he suffered last September. He had previously indicated he was fully healthy in July, and his presence at practice confirms that. He looked fully healthy and seems set to start the beginning of the season for the Orange.

Claims full health Angeli (achilles) maintained his full health following an achilles tear last season, reporting that he has been running around on the field, per Chris Carlson of The Syracuse Post-...
Impact Angeli suffered the injury just four games into the season last year following a productive start to the year for Syracuse. The 6-foot-3 senior threw for 1,317 yards and 10 touchdowns to just two interceptions through four games prior to his injury. The news of his health is certainly encouraging as Angeli is expected to be one of the top signal callers in the conference heading into 2026.

Impact Angeli's ability to reach that speed on the treadmill is an encouraging sign as he works to return from last season's torn Achilles. The Syracuse quarterback appears to be making steady progress in his rehab and remains on track for fall camp participation. He's slated to be the starter for the Orange once again this fall.
MAY 12 • ROTOWIRE
On track for fall camp Angeli (achilles) is on track to be ready to roll for Syracuse's fall camp, per Syracuse.com.
Impact Angeli was off to an excellent start in 2025 with the Orange, having tossed for 1,317 yards, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions on 63 percent completion with a rushing score as well. However, he suffered a season-ending achilles injury in Week 4 and was wiped out for the rest of the season. He's still not a full go in spring ball, but remains on track to be a full participant in fall camp.
APRIL 14 • ROTOWIRE
Progressing well in recovery Angeli (Achilles) announced that he is progressing well in his recovery, Michael McAllister of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Syracuse's spring practice recently commenced, and an attending Angeli told reporters that he is progressing well despite being on the sideline for said session. It is unknown whether or not 'Cuse's spring camp will include the quarterback, but he will be ready for the beginning of the 2026 FBS season. With that in mind, it would not be surprising if Angeli can log some spring reps.
