Impact Gaines amassed 883 total yards last season as Boise State's RB2 behind Dylan Riley, who ran for a 1,125 yards as the top ball-carrier for the Broncos. This is a two-headed monster in Boise State's backfield, and both ball-carriers will have a chance to take starting reps this spring. Both halfbacks should be staples of this offense come fall.

Impact Gaines had a very solid year for the Broncos, and entered the LA bowl against Washington with 795 rushing yards and eight scores. However, the Huskies completely shut him down, and the entire Boise State ground game in general -- the Broncos' leading rusher was Dylan Riley with 34 yards. Still, with three years of eligibility remaining and coming off a season in which he neared 900 all-purpose yards, Gaines' future is bright.

Reaches paydirt in MWC Championship Gaines had nine rushes for 64 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 38-21 Mountain West Championship win over UNLV.

Impact Gaines handled just nine carries compared to Dylan Riley's 21, but he made the most of his totes and finished with just 11 fewer yards on the ground, in addition to one rushing score to Riley's zero. Riley did reach the end zone with a catch out of the backfield, and Gaines looks to be settled into the No. 2 role in Boise State's backfield.
