Catches two TDs Evans caught six passes for 83 yards and two scores against Liberty on Friday.
Impact Evans came into this game with 37 catches for 391 yards and three touchdowns, so this is a bit of a surprise. The receiver stepped up in a big game, which his team surely appreciated, but there isn't really much to take away from this going forward.

Tallies 64 yards Evans caught five passes for 64 yards versus KSU on Saturday.
Impact This is the fifth game in a row where Evans has had at least four catches. What's notable, though, is this time he had 10 targets, so the receiver was being looked for much more. Although, this game did also go into overtime.

Impact With Noah Smith (undisclosed) out, Evans was starting for the Bearkats again. However, backup quarterback Jase Bauer got the start with Hunter Watson (undisclosed) injured, and his lackluster passing did not help this offense.

Finds end zone Evans caught three passes for 27 yards and a touchdown against NMSU on Saturday.
Impact Sam Houston is 3-1 even though the offense has operated in odd ways, including emergences and disappearances by several receivers. Evans' role is clearer, and it is a tertiary role. He has two touchdowns, but he is also yet to top three catches in a game.
SEPTEMBER 21, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Finds end zone Evans caught three passes for 89 yards and a touchdown against UCF on Saturday.
Impact This is Evans' first touchdown at the FBS level. That's not encouraging, given that he was with Sam Houston last season as the program made the move to the FBS.

Plays WR in season finale Evans caught 11 passes for 110 yards versus MTSU on Saturday.
Impact Evans spent one year as a quarterback at Army, and then transferred to Sam Houston when it was still an FCS program. This year, he was still seen as a backup quarterback, and not even the main backup. So, in the season finale, the Bearkats decided to see what he could do as a wide receiver. Looks like Evans will have a new role in 2024.
