Impact Porter appears to have parted ways with the Bearkats at some point this past week, as he logged 42 snaps versus Jacksonville State in Week 7. It's now unknown what the senior running back's plans will be moving forward.

Impact This is an interesting situation, as Porter reportedly needs 12 more hours to finish his degree at North Texas. He'll return to Denton to wrap up his degree, but will remain in the transfer portal to continue to seek football-related opportunities elsewhere. Porter is coming off a breakout season with the Mean Green, rushing for 648 yards and five touchdowns on 6.7 yards-per-carry.

Impact Porter exploded for nearly 200 yards Friday, a massive surprise considering he had just 340 yards through nine games this season. He also scored three touchdowns, runs of 79 yards, 39 yards and 43 yards. It appears he has taken ahold of the Eagles' backfield and his performance on Friday solidified that position. He faces two favorable matchups to end the season, starting Saturday versus East Carolina.

Impact Porter appears in line for another week of lead back duties with Ikaika Ragsdale and Damashja Harris, both of whom missed last week's showdown with Memphis, held off the depth chart this week. The 5-foot-10 junior has been effective across UNT's last two contests, totaling 22 carries for 145 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Porter will look to continue his efficiency on the ground against Tulane this weekend.

Impact With both Ikaika Ragsdale (undisclosed) and Damashja Harris (undisclosed) out Saturday, Porter led the Eagles' backfield and put together a productive performance. He ran for over 70 yards for the third time in his last four games and scored his second touchdown of the season, a 10-yard run in the first quarter. It's currently unclear where he will fit in the backfield when and if Ragsdale and Harris return, but he has certainly made the most of his opportunity without them in the lineup.

Impact With the Mean Green in the midst of an injury crisis at running back, Porter, a transfer wide receiver, led the backfield Saturday. He led the team with 120 yards on a team-high 13 carries, following up his decent performance last week where he scored a touchdown on the ground. His outing could have been a lot better too, but Makenzie McGill scored three touchdowns on just six carries. Although there is lots of uncertainty in the North Texas backfield moving forward, Porter appears to be the current starter with McGill and Kiefer Sibley rotating in.
