Impact Brown got the scoring started in the first quarter Friday, hauling in a 45-yard touchdown, his first of the season, to put the Aztecs ahead. The junior Brown does offer some big-play upside, though his role has been limited overall early this year -- he's totaled 12 receptions for 138 yards through four games. Brown joined San Diego State as a transfer from Syracuse in the offseason.

Jordan Napier - Another big game Napier gathered in all seven targets for 153 yards and a touchdown during Friday's 45-24 victory versus Colorado State.
Impact Napier has firmly established himself as Jayden Denegal's go-to option -- no other player logged more than two receptions in the win. Through five games, the sophomore Napier has totaled 31 receptions (on 41 targets) for 443 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including a 42-yard snag Friday.

Byron Cardwell Jr. - Finishes as leading rusher Cardwell notched 15 rushes for 129 yards and a touchdown during Friday's 45-24 victory over Colorado State.
Impact Cardwell took over in the backfield once the game was out of hand and certainly made the most of the opportunity, ultimately leading the Aztecs in rushing yards while punching in a 20-yard touchdown, his first of the year. While Cardwell likely remains behind Lucky Sutton and Christian Washington on the depth chart, the senior could see his role grow after his performance Friday. Cardwell joined San Diego State as a transfer this offseason following stints at Oregon and Cal.

Jayden Denegal - Leads Aztecs to 4-1 start Denegal was 13-for-16 passing for 256 yards and two touchdowns during Friday's 45-24 victory over Colorado State.
Impact It was an impressive bounce-back showing from Denegal, after the junior threw two interceptions last week against NIU. Denegal completed all but three of his pass attempts, finishing with a season-high 256 yards. The Michigan transfer has completed 63.3 percent of his passes for 896 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions through five games this year.

Impact Sutton rushed for a career-high 113 yards Friday while punching in his fourth and fifth touchdowns of the season before ceding work to Byron Cardwell once the game was out of hand. The junior Sutton has seen 15 or more carries in four of his first five games this year, totaling 450 yards on 87 carries.

Impact Napier was the clear top option for Jayden Denegal on Saturday, as he accounted for 154 of the quarterback's 189 passing yards. After he was held to just two catches for 15 yards in SDSU's opener, the sophomore Napier has logged 16 receptions on 22 targets for 223 yards in his last two contests.
