Rodney Tisdale Jr. News, Rumors, Updates - Western Kentucky Hilltoppers

Unused against MSU Tisdale did not play during Western Kentucky's 34-13 loss Saturday against Missouri State.

Impact Western Kentucky's availability report did not include Tisdale. Yet, WKU recently used only one quarterback, Brock Glenn. For 2026, Tisdale's four games include as many touchdowns and turnovers.

Throws for over 300 yards Tisdale went 20-for-40 for 314 yards and an interception against NMSU on Thursday.

Impact This is Tisdale's second game in a row with over 300 passing yards, but the touchdowns have been hard to come by. In fact, he's thrown four touchdowns on the year, and he also has four turnovers.

Piles it on FCS team Tisdale went 19-for-23 for 309 yards and four touchdowns against Mercyhurst on Saturday. He also ran for 18 yards.

Impact Tisdale started the season slow, and seemed to lose the starting job to Brock Glenn. However, he got a chance to play against an FCS team here, and he certainly took advantage. That being said, Glenn also played, and Glenn totaled three touchdowns, so don't be so sure that Tisdale is back atop the WKU depth chart.

Likely loses starting job Tisdale went 6-for-14 for 31 yards and an interception and lost a fumble against Georgia on Saturday.

Impact Yes, it was Georgia, and Western Kentucky was expected to lose, if not lose by 50 as it did. However, Tisdale was terrible, but it's more than that. Brock Glenn came into the game, and while he obviously got to do a lot of garbage time work he threw for a touchdown and added two on the ground. Expect Tisdale to be on the bench next weekend at Indiana.

SEPTEMBER 12 • ROTOWIRE

No touchdowns in opener Tisdale went 24-for-40 for 203 yards, added 13 yards rushing, and lost a fumble against Nevada on Saturday.

Impact Tisdale was without K.D. Hutchinson, ostensibly WKU's top receiver, but this is still a lackluster performance. The Hilltoppers delivered big passing numbers for fantasy-minded folks for years, but that well may be dry with Tisdale under center.

Brock Glenn will serve as the QB2 behind Tisdale.

Expected to start Week 1 Tisdale is expected to start Western Kentucky's regular-season opener Saturday at Nevada, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.

Impact For most of the summer, it was believed that Tisdale had the edge at quarterback, and him being expected to start Week 1 confirms the previous belief. If the Hilltoppers do not name a starting QB before their regular-season opener, he is projected to continue from last season and remain a starter.

He's competing with Glenn, an incoming transfer who spent the past three seasons at Florida State. It'll be interesting to see what wins out here: Tisdale's experience and familiarity with the Hilltoppers, or Glenn's Power Four resume.

Impact Per Scott Watkins of the Sun Herald, Tisdale took a big hit in the second quarter and left the contest, with Maverick McIvor stepping in at quarterback. Costly turnovers in loss Tisdale went 17-for-24 for 180 yards and an interception against JSU on Saturday. He ran five times for 14 yards and a score, but lost a fumble.

Impact The Hilltoppers decided to stick with Tisdale over Maverick McIvor, now healthy, for this game, and it didn't pan out. Western Kentucky lost by three in a game where a win would have clinched a spot in the conference title game. There is definitely a question now of who starts WKU's next game.

Unsurprisingly struggles at LSU Tisdale went 20-for-39 for 128 yards and two interceptions against LSU on Saturday.

Impact Playing in Death Valley was always likely to be tough for Tisdale. You can write this game off and not take anything away from it when it comes to next week. Tisdale and company visit JSU for a huge conference game.

Statement game in QB battle Tisdale went 29-for-41 for 371 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception against MTSU on Saturday. He also ran for 10 yards and a score.

Impact This is Tisdale's third start in a row, but it is notable because for the first time former starter Maverick McIvor was available after suffering his shoulder injury. As such, this felt like an audition for Tisdale, and he nailed it. However, don't get too excited, because WKU's next game is at LSU.

NOVEMBER 16, 2025 • Associated Press

Set to start Saturday Tisdale is set to start Saturday's game versus Middle Tennessee State, Jeff Nations of Bowling Green Daily News reports.

Impact Although Maverick McIvor (shoulder) will be available Saturday, Tisdale will make his third straight start Saturday. McIvor is still progressing from his injury, but it says a lot that the coaching staff trusts Tisdale to start again. He's given them good reason to as he's completed 51 of 72 passes for 528 yards, five touchdowns, two interceptions along with 101 rushing yards across his two starts.

NOVEMBER 13, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Four TDs in big win Tisdale went 30-for-38 for 301 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception against NMSU on Saturday. He also ran 12 times for 28 yards.

Impact This is a big game for Tisdale, but don't get too excited. One, Maverick McIvor (shoulder) has a bye week to heal up and take back over as starter. Two, after a home game against MTSU the Hilltoppers end with road games against LSU and Jacksonville State.

Impact Tisdale went 21-for-34 for 227 yards, one touchdown and one interception against La Tech in Week 9. Considering that Maverick McIvor is once again dealing with a shoulder injury, Tisdale is going to be under center once again in Week 10.
