Impact Wiggins has had an up-and-down season, but these are good numbers. However, Clay Thevenin actually outdid him with 143 yards and three touchdowns. If you're thinking, "Wow, that's a lot of run production," it is worth noting Sam Houston has truly an atrocious defense.

All that is certain is that Wiggins had all of seven carries over the first two games but was the lead back against the Aggies. Next week against Southern Miss should be quite instructive.

Concerning performance in Week 1 Wiggins caught one pass for a 17-yard touchdown against SE Louisiana on Saturday, but he also only ran four times for one yard.
Impact Wiggins came into the season with the expectation he would be the lead running back. As such, the fact he had a single rushing yard against an FCS team does raise a lot of questions about that.

Impact The true sophomore made a statement in terms of being the lead back for the Bulldogs next season. However, he only had four rushing touchdowns all season, and piling it on the woeful owls is not super impressive. Still, it's better than not succeeding in an easy matchup.

Does well on limited carries Wiggins ran nine times for 70 yards and had two catches for 11 yards versus WKU on Saturday.
Impact The 7.8 yards per carry is nice, though the nine carries is not ideal for production. He and Amani Givens essentially flipped roles, and givens ran for 103 yards, so it will be interesting to see how the last couple games of the season go. Although, next week against Arkansas will likely be tough for both Wiggins and Givens.

Rushes for 67 yards Wiggins ran 16 times for 67 yards and had two catches for five yards Saturday versus JSU.
Impact The numbers aren't great, and Wiggins only has three total touchdowns this season. On the other hand, the 18 touches makes it clear that Wiggins is the lead back for the Bulldogs, as no other back had more than nine touches.

La Tech's new lead back Wigigns ran 13 times for 60 yards and a touchdown and had two catches for 10 yards versus NMSU on Tuesday.
Impact With his 15 touches in this game, Wiggins seems to have earned the role of the Bulldogs' top back, though by no means is he getting a ton of looks yet. The true sophomore has his first rushing touchdown, though, and he already has seven catches for 57 yards and two scores, all of that coming over the last four weeks.

Catches two TDs Wiggins ran the ball eight times for 49 yards against MTSU on Thursday, but also caught two passes for 21 yards and two scores.
Impact Inexperienced quarterback Evan Bullock may have been happy to dump the ball off to a back, and Wiggins did well with his two catches. The issue, of course, is that you certainly can't rely on a running back to turn every catch into a score, and on the season Wiggins has averaged 4.0 yards per carry on only 27 carries.
