Impact Morris and the rest of the Chanticleers struggled to get anything going in this one against the Virginia Cavaliers defense. The offence finally got on the board in the third quarter while already trailing by 35. Morris will look for better results next Saturday against Charleston Southern who allowed 45 points against Vanderbilt in their season opener.

Impact The Chanticleer's quarterback competition will apparently bleed into the opener. Morris appears to have the edge as he'll take the first snaps, but the Coastal Carolina staff clearly isn't 100 percent sold on him as their starting gunslinger quite yet. With Hudson and Collier also set to see action against Virginia, the battle for QB1 in Conway is still very much active.

Signs with Coastal Carolina Morris has announced his commitment to Coastal Carolina ahead of the 2025-26 season, Pete Nakos of On3.comreports.

Impact Morris will join the Chanticleers this offseason after spending the 2024-25 season with the Terrapins. The 6-foot-1 redshirt sophomore, who started his career at NC State, has thrown for 1,717 yards (151-of-260), 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, adding on 115 yards and two scores on the ground.

Impact Morris transferred in from NC State for the 2024 season and served as the Terrapins backup quarterback, compiling 350 passing yards and a 5:5 TD:INT while completing 59 percent of his pass attempts. With starting QB Billy Edwards (transfer portal) leaving the program, it appeared as though Morris could have a chance at the starting gig. However, he'll look for a fresh start in 2025 through the transfer portal.

Struggles in blowout loss Morris was 14-for-24 passing for 112 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions during Saturday's 44-7 defeat against Penn State. He also had eight rushes for -34 yards.

Impact Morris and the Maryland offense had a tough day against a stout Penn State defense, managing just seven points while totaling less than 200 yards on the day. The redshirt sophomore quarterback connected with receiver Kaden Prather on a 25-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, giving the Terps their only score of the day. Morris threw for 350 yards and five touchdowns to five interceptions in seven appearances this season while serving primarily as a backup until starter Billy Edwards suffered an undisclosed injury. With Maryland missing out on bowl eligibility, Morris will have to wait until the off-season for another chance to stake his claim for the starting job in 2025.

Should Edwards be held out of the team's season finale against Penn State this coming Saturday, Morris will get another opportunity against the Nittany Lions.

Impact Morris performed admirably in his limited opportunity on Saturday, filling in for fellow quarterback Billy Edwards in the fourth quarter with the game well in hand in favor of the Golden Gophers. The redshirt sophomore quarterback connected with linebacker DJ Samuels and receiver Shaleak Knotts on a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns while completing 88 percent of his passes after filling in for Edwards. With Edwards healthy, it is unlikely that Morris will see many opportunities moving forward outside of blowout situations like Saturday, but his next chance to see the field will come when the Terrapins travel to Eugene to face Oregon following this week's bye.
