Transfers to Washburn Thomas will transfer to Division II Washburn, per the Topeka Capital-Journal.
Impact Thomas has bounced around in his career, playing for Minnesota, Kansas and Kent State. He's been a productive tailback in the past; his best season came in 2021 with Minnesota when he ran for 834 yards and six scores. Now, with one season of eligibility remaining, he'll look to take control of Washburn's backfield.

Departing from Kent State Thomas has announced his entry into the NCAA transfer portal.
Impact Thomas will depart from Kent State after spending one season with the program. The 5-foot-10 senior wideout, who made previous stops with Minnesota and Kansas, tallied 135 carries for 549 yards and one touchdown on the ground this season, adding on 10 receptions for 53 yards through the air.

First touchdown of season in loss Thomas had 17 carries for 67 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 37-35 loss against Ball State.
Impact Thomas finally posted his first touchdown of the season although Kent State couldn't sneak out the win against the Cardinals. The veteran running back has seen an inconsistent snap share so far this season, making him a risky asset even after a big day like this one.

Hitting transfer portal again Thomas announced he entered the transfer portal Tuesday.
Impact Thomas will transfer after logging 53 carries for 162 yards and two touchdowns in nine appearances as the No. 2 back behind sophomore Devin Neal in 2022. The redshirt junior recorded 166 rushes for 824 yards and six touchdowns over nine games with Minnesota in 2021, though it's unclear if he'll have to sit out at least one season after transferring for the second time in as many seasons. As a result, Thomas could have only one remaining season of collegiate eligibility.
JANUARY 3, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Targeting a return Saturday Kansas offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki said he anticipates Thomas (lower-body) to be available Saturday against TCU, Matt Tait of the Lawrence Journal-World reports.
Impact Kotelnicki also mentioned how Thomas has recently looked good running around in practice, per Tait. The 200-pound running back picked up an apparent lower-body injury in Week 3 against Houston, and he's since missed the last two games as a result. If Thomas is medically cleared to return for Saturday's matchup versus the Horned Frogs, he'd likely operate as the No. 2 running back behind Devin Neal, as fellow RB Daniel Hishaw (undisclosed) is currently set to miss an extended period of time.
OCTOBER 5, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with lower-body issue Coach Lance Leipold said Tuesday that Thomas has a "lower extremity" issue and isn't 100 percent, Matt Tait of the Lawrence Journal-World reports.
Impact Thomas picked up the injury during Week 3's matchup against Houston and was sidelined for the team's win over Duke. Leipold added the team is monitoring Thomas, but it's unclear if the running back will be able to play against Iowa State on Saturday.

Big 12 Preview: Can Oklahoma regain top spot in balanced league?
Tough path to playing time Thomas (arm) is healthy and will be ready for the start of the 2021 season, Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Impact The sophomore running back isn't likely to see much playing time as he is buried on the depth chart and coach P.J. Fleck said starter Mo Ibrahim will carry the bulk of the load in 2021, leaving few carries to go around.
