Set for long-term absence
Powell is expected to miss most of the 2024 season after being carted off during a scrimmage in April, according to Sean Havens of 247Sports.com.
Impact
Powell suffered a severe injury in the spring, and it wouldn't be surprising if he misses the entire 2024 campaign while recovering. This affect the Bulls' depth chart, since he would've been in line for a decent amount of touches in a weekly basis. With Powell out, Ta'Ron Keith and Kelley Joiner are in line to see more touches behind the expected starter, Nay'Quan Wright.

Not full speed for spring
Powell is still recovering from a leg injury that forced him to miss the entirety of his freshman season, South Florida announcer Darrek Sharp reports.
Impact
Powell figures to slot in towards the bottom of South Florida's depth chart while operating below in a limited capacity this spring. He will still have a long offseason to recover and possibly climb the depth chart ahead of the 2022 regular season.
