Impact Johnson saw double-digit targets for the third time over his last four games, and the 13 targets matched a season-high output for the senior wideout. He finished the season with 75 catches for 925 yards and seven scores, with the catches and receiving yards being personal-high marks by a wide margin.

Impact Johnson didn't manage to get involved much in Western Kentucky's blowout victory at the hands of Jacksonville State in the CUSA title game, but the wideout scored his seventh touchdown of the season on his lone catch. The senior needs to decide if he's going to suit up for the bowl game against James Madison on Dec. 18.

Impact The Gamecocks kept Johnson in check, but they couldn't keep him from getting the ball. He now has 65 catches on the season with a couple games left on the slate.

Impact This was Johnson's first fumble of the season, so that's anomalous. With 57 catches for 779 yards and six touchdowns, Johnson could match the 61 catches for 829 yards and seven touchdowns he had at Alcorn State in 2023.

Impact These numbers aren't remarkable, but within the context of WKU's performance in this one things look better. Johnson led the Hilltoppers in receiving yards and also tied running back Elijah Young for the lead in catches.

Impact Though the Hilltoppers aren't throwing the ball as much as in the past, Johnson is still putting up numbers like receivers from this team in the past. Through nine games he has 66 targets and has caught 46 passes for 645 yards and five scores.

Impact This is better than last time around, when Johnson was held to three catches for 19 yards. Still, he now has been held without a touchdown for three games in a row, and his targets have dropped a bit as well.

Impact Johnson had been on a tear that led to him emerging as the top receiver for the Hilltoppers. He was only targeted five times in this game, a low for him on the season, but this could just be a fluke. When Johnson plays against Kennesaw State in WKU's next game things should pick back up.

Impact Johnson didn't find the end zone like a couple of his teammates, but he still was the focal point of the passing game. The Alcorn State was targeted 10 times, and he now has 34 catches for 474 yards and four touchdowns.

Having a classic WKU #1 guy season Johnson caught seven passes for 56 yards and a touchdown versus Boston College on Saturday.

Impact Ever since head coach Tyson Helton adopted his current offensive scheme (ported over entirely from then-Houston Baptist), there has been a receiver for the Hilltoppers who has gotten a ton of targets, and in turn racked up a lot of receptions and yards. Sometimes, they also bring the touchdowns. In 2024, that guy is Johnson. Let's ignore the opener against Alabama for obvious reasons. In his last four games, Johnson has 27 catches for 377 yards and four scores.

The guy for the Hilltoppers Johnson caught six passes for 73 yards and a touchdown versus Toledo on Saturday.

Impact The presumption was that Dalvin Smith, a WKU contributor for a few seasons, would step into the role as the number-one receiver, a great role to have in this offense. Instead, it's clearly Johnson, an Alcorn State transfer, who has taken that role. He has 20 catches over the last three weeks and has averaged over 100 yards with three total touchdowns.

Emerging as FBS star Johnson caught eight passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns against MTSU on Saturday.

Impact Last year, Johnson had 61 catches for 829 yards and seven touchdowns for Alcorn State. He transferred to WKU, which runs a pass-heavy offense. While Johnson did nothing against Alabama, that's not surprising. The last two weeks he has 14 catches for 248 yards and two scores.

Impact The Hilltoppers opened the season against Alabama, so it was presumed there would be little to be gleaned from that one. With a chance to get the offense moving, Johnson not only had the most catches for WKU, nobody else on the team had more than 76 yards from scrimmage. The Alabama State transfer was the standout receiver in this one.
