Logs three scores in starting debut Houser was 18-for-29 passing for 133 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 27-24 loss versus Rutgers. He also had eight rushes for 27 yards with one touchdown. Impact Houser performed well during his starting debut. The redshirt freshman wasn't asked to do much as a passer, averaging just 4.6 yards per attempt, but he did cap off two well-managed scoring drives with touchdown passes of 13 and four yards in the first and third quarters, respectively. Houser also provided added benefit with his legs, including a 12-yard touchdown run for his longest carry of the day. Houser's three incompletions on his final four passes of the game did contribute to Michigan State blowing a 24-6 lead in the second half. Nevertheless, Houser's all-around encouraging debut should keep him in as the starting quarterback for what will be a difficult matchup versus the in-state rival Wolverines this coming Saturday.
