Out for season Thomas (knee) will miss the rest of the 2025 season, according to Bret Bloomquist of the El Paso Times.

Impact Thomas hasn't played since the Miners' opener, and now it's been confirmed he won't return for the rest of the campaign. Thomas ends the campaign with 16 carries for 36 yards and four catches for 26 receiving yards. Expect Hahsaun Wilson to continue as the lead back for UTEP.

Impact Thomas practiced Tuesday and Wednesday, but he's believed to be dealing with a knee injury, meaning UTEP will have to shift things in their backfield. Hahsaun Wilson and Ashten Emory are expected to see an uptick in carries with Thomas out.

Thomas would carry the ball occasionally, but in the 2025 season opener he comfortably got the most carries of any Miner. Could he now be the team's lead back?

Impact Thomas is the style of receiver that is valuable to his team, but brings less to the fantasy space. He has 26 catches through four games, which is quite good, but he's a release-valve receiver, not a big-play threat. Thomas has turned those 26 catches into 284 yards, and he has only found the end zone once.

Impact Skyler Locklear is in his first year as a starting quarterback and he clearly has a plan: Throw the ball to Thomas as much as possible. Thomas returns punts and kicks, and they don't let you do that if you aren't a dynamic athlete.

Impact Of all the guys who followed Scotty Walden from Austin Peay to UTEP, Thomas had the easiest transition to the FBS level in Week 1. These are good numbers, especially for a game in Lincoln against a Matt Rhule defense. Now, Thomas is only 5'7'', so he's undersized, but he seems like he can handle a slot role in Conference USA.
