Takes backseat in conference road loss Johnson logged 10 rushes for 35 yards and hauled in 0 of 1 targets for zero yards during Saturday's 28-25 defeat versus Virginia.

Impact Johnson was back in the lineup for the first time since Sept. 17, as he has missed time due to a hand injury. He had some bright spots, but there was a lot of rust, too. His 3.5 yards per carry did represent a season best. He'll look to build on that momentum Saturday against Louisville.

Finds end zone in home loss Johnson notched 15 rushes for 46 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 21-18 loss to California.

Impact Johnson saw the bulk of the carries once Tylik Hill (leg) went down with an apparent leg injury early in the game. It was Johnson and Shavane Anderson Jr. handling a majority of the backfield touches. Johnson had slightly better success with 3.1 yards per carry and the TD, while Anderson had nine carries and just 2.0 YPC. It's a short week, with a trip to Pittsburgh on Thursday, so if Hill cannot go, Johnson might see double-digit carries again.

Good to go for Week 2 Johnson (ankle) is not listed on the injury report for Saturday's game against California.

Impact Johnson will suit up Saturday after a report indicated that he was expected to play. The running back is projected to work behind Tylik Hill and Matt Outten, but he should see some meaningful carries after coming off a season at LSU in which he rushed for 155 yards on 41 attempts.

Should be able to play Week 2 Johnson (ankle) should be able to play in Saturday's game against California, Michael McAllister of 247Sports.com reports.

Impact An ankle injury prevented Johnson from playing in Week 1, when Syracuse handled non-FBS team New Hampshire, which would have been the easiest way for him to begin his Orange career. Instead, his earliest chance comes next Saturday against California, a fellow ACC team. The best part of Johnson's previous experience is that it comes from a top program, LSU, whose 2025 season includes his 200-plus all-purpose yards and multiple touchdowns.
