Impact Johnson only spent one season at Notre Dame, but he struggled to find any consistent playing time. The depth chart wasn't looking very open in South Bend next season, so Johnson decided to look elsewhere. Now he lands with UCF where he should have a better opportunity to challenge for playing time right away. Johnson will have all four years of eligibility remaining.

Moves on from Irish Johnson announced Monday via his personal Twitter account that he will enter the transfer portal with the intention of leaving Notre Dame.

Impact The 6-foot-1, 195-pound wideout arrived at Notre Dame last season as a four-star recruit, but he struggled to see the field during his inaugural campaign in South Bend. He appeared in only two games, recording no receptions in either contest. Johnson wasn't expected to make a major climb up the depth chart heading into 2021, so he'll look to reboot his career elsewhere. Given that he held several Power Five offers coming out of high school, Johnson shouldn't have much trouble landing with another major-conference program.
