Impact Taylor and Xavier Brown were the only two running backs to log a carry in Virginia's first four drives, then Harrison Waylee stepped in for a pair of goal-line touches and Noah Vaughn entered the fold. All in all, Taylor tied with Vaughn for the most carries in the contest, while Brown rushed eight times and Waylee seven times. Taylor and Brown's early usage is encouraging, but it's probably safer to avoid the Cavaliers' RBs until there's more of an established pecking order.

Impact During the Cavaliers' fall camp, Taylor split first-team reps with Xavier Brown, so they made it clear that the former would at least be in the running to be their primary running back. If Taylor does estbablish himself as RB1, he would have the best chance to replicate his 2024 FCS season, which features over 1,000 rushing yards and 15 total touchdowns.
