In line for starting role Sparkman will start at one of the outside receiver spots for Texas Tech on Saturday against Kansas State, Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports.

Impact Sparkman moves into the starting spot at the 'Z' receiver position after drawing a season-high four targets in Week 4. Jerand Bradley and Loic Fouonji will rotate in but Sparkman and Trey Cleveland will start out wide.

Not participating Saturday Sparkman is wearing his jersey but won't work out during Saturday's scrimmage, Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports.

Impact It's unclear if Sparkman is dealing with some sort of injury or if he's just a healthy scratch from the scrimmage. Regardless, he isn't expected to have a rotational role in the offense this year whether he's healthy or not.
