Impact Ford was elevated last-minute to the starting running back role once it was announced that Gerrid Doaks (leg) wouldn't be playing, but it didn't result in more workload. Facing a stout Georgia front seven, the redshirt freshman just barely passed his usual workload of 7.2 carries per game. Although Ford did break off a 79-yard run to score a touchdown in the third quarter, his lack of production otherwise with 19 yards on seven carries is what lead to the team moving away from the ground game. With Doaks announcing a move to the NFL, Ford will return in 2021 as the clear favorite to sit atop the depth chart after finishing with 483 yards and eight touchdowns in his first season with Cincinnati after transferring from Alabama.
