Undergoes successful surgery Alabama head coach Nick Saban said Monday that Waddle (ankle) underwent successful surgery, Charlie Potter of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Saban relayed that Waddle's long-term prognosis is good, though the wideout will remain sidelined for about 6-to-8 weeks before he can increase the intensity of his rehab. Waddle suffered a high-ankle sprain and fracture on the opening kickoff of Saturday's 48-17 win over Tennessee, with Saban confirming at halftime during the contest that the injury would sideline the junior receiver for the remainder of the season. While Waddle looks like he'll be back to full health ahead of the 2021 season if he incurs no setbacks in his rehab program, he may choose to forgo his remaining eligibility to enter the 2021 NFL Draft. Waddle finishes 2020 with 25 receptions for 557 yards and four touchdowns across 29 targets.
