Expected to enter portal Maiava is expected to enter the transfer portal, Dan Morrison of On3.com reports.
Impact Maiava has only one season of collegiate experience, but the campaign was massive for him. He logged 201 completions and 69 carries for more than 3,000 scrimmage yards and 17 touchdowns across his 12 games with UNLV during 2023. Still with much time to improve as well, it should be no surprise if Maiava ends up being one of the most sought-out players this offseason.

Solid to cap regular season Maiava was 19-for-29 passing for 229 yards and a touchdown during Saturday's 37-31 defeat to San Jose State.
Impact While the loss snapped a three-game winning streak, it was another positive outing from the freshman Maiava, who's completed 64 percent of his passes for 1,047 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions over his last four games. Maiava's strong finish led the Rebels to their first appearance in the Mountain West Conference championship game, where they'll host Boise State next week.

Impact While Maiva struggled with accuracy at times against a stout Air Force defense, he was able to throw for 339 yards, his highest total since Week 8, propelling UNLV to a third straight win and first place in the Mountain West. Maiva, a redshirt freshman, is up to 2,407 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions ahead of next week's regular-season finale vs. San Jose State.

Another strong showing in win Maiava completed 17 of 24 passes for 232 yards and a touchdown during Friday's 34-14 win versus Wyoming. He also had 11 rushes for 40 yards with two touchdowns.
Impact Maiava was efficient again through the air, completing 70.8 percent of his passes in the win, though he did most of his damage on the ground, adding a pair of rushing scores, including a 10-yard scamper on UNLV's opening drive. Maivai's now thrown for 2,068 yards with 11 touchdowns and four interceptions while adding 199 rushing yards with three scores in his redshirt freshman campaign.

Impact While Maiava topped 260 yards for a third straight game, his two interceptions proved costly in the one-score loss to Fresno State. The redshirt freshman's completed 64.2 percent of his passes for 1,589 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions across eight games. Maiava will look to get back in the win column next week against a New Mexico defense that's averaging 360 yards allowed this season.
