The 6-foot-5 quarterback started the last three games of the season, so he should have a good shot at the QB1 role next season with former starter Josh Holst hitting the transfer portal. Impact Macon got the starting nod for the Huskies in the home clash, but he struggled to get things going on the passing front. So much so that the redshirt junior quarterback got benched in the fourth quarter for position mate Brady Davidson. It's now unknown who NIU will roll with under center next Friday against Kent State, especially since Davidson played much better than Macon with less time.
