Transfers to McNeese State Strong has transferred from Texas Tech to McNeese State for the 2025 season.
Will be available for bowl game Strong is set to be the backup quarterback for the Liberty Bowl versus Arkansas on Dec. 27, Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports.
Impact Despite entering the transfer portal a week ago, Strong will finish out the season with the Red Raiders. With Behren Morton (shoulder) out, Will Hammond will start and Strong will back him up. After that he will look for a new school where he has a better chance to start.

Impact After the 2023 season, it would not be a surprise if Strong wanted to redeem himself following his output problems during said campaign. But in 2024, he could not provide an output at all behind Behren Morton under center. So now, Strong is available in the transfer portal.

Impact Strong threw three interceptions in his second consecutive game. While Texas Tech was able to move the ball versus BYU, the offensive performance was killed by critical turnovers. Impact Strong made his collegiate debut last week against Kansas State after Behren Morton left the game with a shoulder injury, but his results weren't encouraging -- he completed 16 of 28 passes and tossed three picks. This will be the first start of the freshman.
