GAME LOG

Practicing in fall camp Ruder (undisclosed) was seen throwing during North Texas' fall camp practices, Reed C. Smith of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Ruder was unable to suit up for North Texas' spring scrimmage while dealing with an undisclosed minor injury. The now junior signal-caller began the 2021 season as the team's starting quarterback before losing this job to Austin Aune after four games. Ruder finished last year with 571 passing yards and a 54.1 percent completion percentage to go along with a 3:5 TD:INT ratio, and he figures to slot in as North Texas' third-string passer behind Aune and Grant Gunnell in 2022.

Sits out scrimmage Ruder (undisclosed) sat for Saturday's scrimmage with a minor injury, Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle reports.
Impact Ruder, who is locked in a battle for the starting quarterback spot with Austin Aune, sat for Saturday's scrimmage. The 6-foot-3 junior appeared in six games for North Texas in 2021, logging 571 passing yards, three touchdowns and five interceptions on 53-of-98 passing. Ruder will look to rejoin the team soon and hope to usurp Aune for the starting spot in 2022.
APRIL 5, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Will get snaps this spring Ruder will split snaps under center alongside three other quarterbacks on North Texas' roster this spring, Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle reports.
Impact Ruder began the 2021 season as the Mean Green's starting quarterback for the first four weeks before moving to a backup role behind Austin Aune. The junior transfer threw for 544 yards, three touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 53.7 percent of his passes over the first four weeks of the season. Ruder will likely have a chance to compete with Aune as well as quarterbacks JD Head and Stone Earle for the starting job heading into the 2022 season.
MARCH 4, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Throws TD, two INTs Ruder went 32-for-51 for 366 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against SMU on Saturday. He also rushed 10 times for 15 yards.
Impact The Mean Green let Ruder air it out, and he definitely racked up the attempts and yards. However, Ruder now has two touchdowns against four picks in 2021, and the defenses have not been tough either. He could lose the starting job soon.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Getting another start Week 2 Ruder is listed as the starter for Saturday's game against SMU, Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle reports.
Impact Ruder struggled last week against Northwestern State, but he will keep his starting job going into Week 2 against SMU. Austin Aune will be available if Ruder does struggle at all again.
SEPTEMBER 7, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Struggles in start Ruder went 10-for-21 for 131 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against NW State on Saturday. He also rushed three times for 23 yards.
Impact Ruder won the starting role this offseason, but he might have already lost it. These are bad numbers in any matchup, but against an FCS team? Don't be surprised if Austin Aune starts next week against SMU.
SEPTEMBER 5, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Draws start for Week 1 Ruder will start Saturday against Northwestern State but Austin Aune will see playing time as well, Brett Vito of the Denton Record-Chronicle reports.
Impact The North Carolina transfer has seemingly won the job, at least to begin the season. North Texas isn't fully committing to that yet, however, as Aune will get playing time in what should be a tune-up game for the Mean Green. Whoever performs best will have a strong chance at getting the nod against SMU in Week 2.
SEPTEMBER 4, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Back to full health Ruder (leg) is fully healthy ahead of the 2020 campaign, Inside Carolina reports.
Impact Ruder missed the majority of the 2019 season due to a leg injury, but he's back in the mix at the signal-caller spot following a lengthy rehab. He's unlikely to see the field often behind Sam Howell, who shined to the tune of 3,641 passing yards and a 38:7 TD:INT ratio as a freshman last year.
