Near-perfect in Week 1 Card was 24-for-25 passing for 273 yards and four touchdowns during Saturday's 49-0 win versus Indiana State. Impact Purdue's offense had everything working against the outmatched Sycamores, as the Boilermakers scored touchdowns on five of their first seven offensive series. Card was at the center of this with passing touchdowns to four different receivers. This was highlighted by a leaping touchdown grab by wideout Leland Smith on a 31-yard pass from Card midway through the third quarter. After Purdue lost its best receiver from last season, Deion Burks, in the transfer portal this offseason, it's encouraging that Card was able to spread the ball around his receiving corps in this dominant win. However, he and the Boilermakers will face a whole another caliber of opponent when they next play Saturday, Sept. 14 versus Notre Dame, which is expected to have one of the best all-around defenses in the sport this season.
