Impact Bachmeier's season was tumultuous, to say the least. He has benched towards the end of the year, but returned for the final game and played valiantly in a narrow loss. The quarterback, who appears to be out of eligibility, tossed for 2,593 yards, 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 62.7 percent of his passes. Given the Demon Deacons' inability to qualify for a bowl game, this should be it for Bachmeier in Winston-Salem.

Of course, he was benched last game, but still, this is a downwards trajectory for the gunslinger that's going to be hard to reverse. Bachmeier will have one more chance to log a bounce-back performance in Week 14 against Duke, assuming he remains the starter.

The quarterback has now led Wake Forest to back-to-back victories, and while one of them came against UConn, it has to be cathartic for a Demon Deacons team that's struggled mightily this season. Impact Wake Forest should've beaten UConn by more than three points, and the quarterback play had a lot to do with that. Bachmeier bounced back from an arguably worse showing against Clemson last week, but he still wasn't great, turning the ball over and failing to score himself. If there's a bright side, his 274 yards passing were the most he's logged since Week 2 against Virginia. He should have an easier time moving the ball through the air against a poor Stanford team Saturday afternoon.

Bachmeier didn't practice Monday or Tuesday and was a limited participant in Wake Forest's Wednesday and Thursday sessions. The Louisiana Tech transfer has completed 62.9 percent of his passes on the year for 1,439 yards and a 9:4 TD:INT. However, he's averaging just 178 yards per game with four interceptions across his last three games.
