Girard Pringle Jr. News, Rumors, Updates - Miami (FL) Hurricanes

Scores in rout of Florida A&M Pringle totaled four carries for 17 yards and one touchdown and caught all two targets for 35 yards during Thursday's 77-7 victory over Florida A&M.

Impact Pringle hasn't been much of a factor for the Hurricanes through two easy wins to kick off the 2026 campaign, but in Week 2, he scored a touchdown on the ground and got involved as a receiver. Pringle won't be viable fantasy-wise week in and week out, but Week 2 was an encouraging performance for the second-year tailback.

Withdraws name from portal Pringle is no longer entering the transfer portal, Hayes Fawcett of On3.com reports.

Impact Just a day after announcing his intention to enter the transfer portal, Pringle withdrew his name and is set to return to the Hurricanes. It's unclear what changed his mind in the past 24 hours, but clearly he heard enough to convince him to stay. The freshman totaled 428 yards from scrimmage and scored five touchdowns across nine appearances this season, although a good chunk of that production came when Mark Fletcher was out.

Leaving Miami Pringle has announced his entry into the NCAA transfer portal, Hayes Fawcett of On3.com reports.

The 5-foot-10 190-pound back appeared in nine games during his time with Miami, totaling 375 yards and four touchdowns on 62 carries, adding on four receptions for 53 yards and a score in the passing game. Leading rusher in win Pringle totaled 10 carries for 82 yards during Saturday's 38-7 victory over Pittsburgh.

Impact Pringle and Mark Fletcher both saw 10 carries against Pitt, but while Fletcher was bottled up to the tune of 30 yards, Pringle had himself a solid outing. He's been mostly quiet save for a 116-yard showing against NC State, but the true freshman once again proved his worth to this Hurricanes' backfield. He should be a big factor in Coral Gables moving forward.

Leading rusher in win Pringle recorded 14 carries for 49 yards and caught all two targets for 21 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 34-17 victory versus Virginia Tech.

Impact With starting tailback Mark Fletcher back available for the Hurricanes but seemingly limited, Pringle was Miami's leading rusher and wound up scoring his fifth touchdown of the season despite being relatively bottled up on the ground, averaging 3.5 yards per carry. Even if Fletcher is healthier for Week 14 against Pitt, expect Pringle to remain involved in some capacity.

Leading rusher in blowout win Pringle recorded 17 rushes for 116 yards and gathered in 2 of 3 targets for 32 yards during Saturday's 41-7 victory versus North Carolina State.

Impact Pringle was Miami's leading rusher as the Hurricanes easily walloped NC State. His 17 carries were nine more than CharMar Brown, who was also expected to help hold down the backfield in the absence of Mark Fletcher. The latter has missed two straight games and remains a question mark, so Pringle could be in for a big workload again against Virginia Tech.

55 yards and a score vs. Orange Pringle compiled seven rushes for 55 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 38-10 win against Syracuse.

Impact Pringle has scored a touchdown in every game he's played this season. In the absence of Mark Fletcher, he was part of a committee backfield that also included CharMar Brown and Jordan Lyle, but Pringle was the most effective and ultimately the Hurricanes' leading rusher. His role figures to wane once Fletcher returns, however.
