The 6-foot-3 graduate student appeared in nine games with Temple last season after transferring in from Rutgers, tossing for 2,032 yards (181-of-308), 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions, adding on three scores with his legs. Impact Simon has been battling with Gevani McCoy for the starting quarterback role in Philly, but it appears he either firmly has the edge or he's already won the job, with the latter seeming more likely considering it's game week and the Owls will open their season against UMass on Saturday. After a solid season with Temple last fall (2,032 yards, 15 touchdowns, nine interceptions, 58.8 percent completion), Simon appears set to run it back as the starting gunslinger.

Impact Earlier in Temple's fall camp, it seemed that Simon was the clear-cut leader to take snaps for the 2025 Owls when their regular season began. But in a 247Sports interview with coach KC Keeler early-Monday, he mentioned how McCoy has tightened the competition gap between both quarterbacks. Simon will have just under three weeks to stretch the gap farther and establish himself as Temple's main QB once again.

Impact Simon failed to score a touchdown in his second straight game Saturday, but he did enough to earn his team the win in overtime. Impact Simon was completely neutralized in Saturday's blowout loss. He completed just 50 percent of his passes for a measly 56 passing yards, easily his fewest this season. He also gained just five rushing yards on 13 attempts, thanks in large part to being sacked six times versus a strong Tulane defense. Luckily for him that was easily his most difficult game left and he faces three very favorable matchups to end the season, the types of matchups that he has proven he can produce in.

Impact Simon accounted for four touchdowns in Saturday's loss, his second time this season with four or more scores. He threw three threw the air and scored one on the ground. He also threw three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, so his outing was not without serious mistakes. Still, it looks like he's done enough to keep the job over Forrest Brock and given how much he has been throwing the ball, he will have some solid value down the stretch.

Impact Simon injured his shoulder on the Owls' final drive in last week's game against Army and ultimately will not be able to go Saturday. Simon will have two more weeks to get healthy before the Owls host Tulsa on Oct. 19.
