Impact Ultimately, Canion didn't end up with a significant role, which also proved a problem with Auburn and Purdue. He has 25 catches for 354 yards through 11 games.

Impact With injuries hitting the Liberty receivers, Canion has been the top target the last couple weeks. He's gotten 20 targets over his last two games and had five catches for roughly 60 yards each time.

Impact Canion was an Auburn recruit, and he also was on Purdue's roster. Even so, it does not appear in the end he is even really a Conference USA-caliber player. While he had 77 yards against FCS school Campbell, in his three games against FBS teams in 2024 Canion has four catches for 53 yards and one touchdown.

Impact First, Canion couldn't find his footing at Auburn. Then, the same thing happened at Purdue. Finally, he's decided to take his talented to a Conference USA team, where the competition for touches is usually less stiff. Breaking off a 50-yard reception probably will help Canion stay in the mix going forward.

Impact Canion and Treon Sibley are the only two wideouts who have claimed regular starting spots for the season opener. Canion spent the first two seasons of his career at Auburn, but he only recorded seven catches in that span.
