That's simply not winning football, and so the Scarlet Knights turning to Surace for Week 2 isn't a surprise.

Impact Rutgers' defense was atrocious, but Lonergan didn't do much to help matters. Though those numbers offer promise, they came with huge highs and just as low lows: he went four games without a touchdown and lacks the legs to make something with his feet. Still, it helps that Lonergan is more proven than a lot of FBS quarterbacks, and he will look to prove why the Scarlet Knights putting their faith in him was warranted.
