Impact Memphis' 2024 bowl included only the second time Blankumsee logged triple-digit yards and a touchdown this year. He began his collegiate career in 2021, improving with each passing year until 2023. By then, Blankumsee had transferred from Toledo to Memphis and started his Tigers career by logging career bests during 2023. The wide receiver recorded 53 receptions for 901 yards and seven touchdowns then. Even though 2024 included a decline in the senior's production, he still registered 45 catches for 677 yards and six TDs.

Impact Blankumsee had easily his best performance of the season Saturday despite leaving the game in the first half. In the span of three minutes in the second quarter, Blankumsee caught touchdowns of 21 yards and 69 yards, helping the Tigers jump out to a 24-14 lead. While celebrating that second touchdown, he appeared to hyperextend his leg and was forced out of the game before returning for a single play later in the game. Fresh off his best performance of the season, Blankumsee's status for Friday's game versus Rice is in question, however the fact that he was able to return to the game after his injury is somewhat promising.

Impact Blankumsee finally broke through with a decent game Saturday as he caught a 31-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Blankumsee had 901 yards and seven touchdowns last season so his lack of production this season has been surprising. His usage in the offense has remained fairly low though so there should not be a lot of optimism for him moving forward.

At this point it seems that the Tigers' passing attack is not potent enough to support Blankumsee, in addition to Seth Henigan spreading the ball around fairly evenly which severely limits Blankumsee's volume.
