Dowdell's touchdown came on a nine-yard scamper to open up the scoring on the day. The Cornhuskers split carries fairly evenly, with four backs receiving between six and 11 attempts on the day, indicating that they may be looking at a committee-style approach to the backfield, at least to start the season. Dowdell's next chance to separate himself from his fellow backs will come when Nebraska hosts Colorado on Saturday.
