Paces Pitt with 49 rushing yards Ferguson posted 15 rushes for 49 yards and hauled in 5 of 6 targets for 17 yards during Saturday's 21-17 defeat against North Carolina.

Impact Ferguson was one of three tailbacks with at least five carries and at least 27 yards, as several players were tasked with carrying the load. Ferguson averaged just 3.3 yards per carries, but he also had five receptions for 17 yards to help out his young QB, Holden Geriner, making his first collegiate start.

Impact The good news is that Ferguson was able to find the end zone again, but the bad news is that RB Ja'Kyrian Turner (undisclosed) returned for the first time since the opener against Miami (Ohio) back on Sept. 5. As long as Turner is healthy, Ferguson's touch total will take a severe hit. However, QB Mason Heintschel (knee) suffered a torn ACL Friday, so the offense could be more run-heavy, leading to a few more opportunities. We'll get a better grasp of the attack Saturday against UNC.

Impact Ferguson racked up a team-high in rushing yards, but it was a community effort in a lopsided game. He averaged 6.2 yards per carry, including a 21-yard scamper, but then he ceded touches to Synkwan Smith and Jaylin Brown. RB Ja'Kyrian Turner continues to miss time with an undisclosed injury, but once he joins the mix, it should push everyone down a spot on the depth chart, so beware.
