Cooper Barkate News, Rumors, Updates - Miami (FL) Hurricanes

Bottled up by Seminoles Barkate gathered in all two targets for 28 yards during Saturday's 43-35 overtime win over Florida State.

Impact Barkate was held in check even in a shootout win. Barkate still has multiple catches in every game this season, but his two targets were his fewest yet. He'll look to get more involved in Week 8 against Pitt.

Hauls in another touchdown Barkate recorded five receptions (on six targets) for 98 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 41-13 victory over Clemson.

Impact Barkate's score came on a screen pass that he took the house, untouched by Clemson defenders. He remains the clear second fiddle to superstar wideout Malachi Toney, but Barkate has been productive through five games with 19 catches for 241 yards and four touchdowns.

Impact Barkate hasn't posted more than 67 receiving yards in a single game for Miami, but the wideout has also scored in three of four contests thus far in 2026. His rapport with Darian Mensah is evident, and he'll look to stay hot at Clemson in Week 5.

Finds end zone in rout Barkate notched two catches for 16 yards and a score during Thursday's 77-7 win against Florida A&M.

Impact Barkate had a pretty quiet Week 2 as Miami's offense obliterated Florida A&M and the starters took limited reps. Barkate has now found the end zone in each of his first two games as a Hurricane but has just 83 total yards and six catches.

Solid Hurricanes debut Barkate caught 4 of 5 targets for 67 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 45-6 win versus Stanford.

Impact Barkate had a solid day through the air, finding the end zone and reeling in all but one of his targets. Still, he was overshadowed by superstar Hurricanes receiver Malachi Toney, who scored three times on well over 200 yards receiving. Barkate's chemistry with Mensah from the pair's Duke days was evident, however, and despite having to share the field with one of the best players in the sport in Toney, Barkate should remain plenty productive all season long in what looks like an exceedingly dangerous Miami offense.

Leaving Duke Barkate has announced his entry into the NCAA transfer portal, Steve Marik of Rivals.com reports.

Impact Barkate will move on from Duke after logging a phenomenal season with the Blue Devils. The 6-foot-1 senior wideout was the top option in Duke's passing game this season, totaling 72 receptions for 1,106 yards and seven touchdowns across 14 games. Scores vs. Sun Devils Barkate notched four receptions (on 12 targets) for 37 yards and one touchdown during Wednesday's 42-39 victory against Arizona State.

Impact Barkate was held to 37 yards in Duke's bowl game victory, but he managed to find the end zone to salvage his performance from a fantasy perspective. The senior wideout had an excellent season after transferring from Harvard, as he posted 72 catches for 1,106 yards and seven touchdowns, proving his game translates to big-time college football. Likely out of eligibility, Barkate appears primed to look towards the next level.

91 yards in title game win Barkate caught 5 of 9 targets for 91 yards during Saturday's 27-20 overtime victory over Virginia.

Impact Barkate tallied 91 yards to surpass 1,000 receiving yards for the second straight season. The senior wideout did it last year with Harvard, and has now done it at the Power Four level in what should be his final year of college football. It remains to be seen if Barkate will partake in the Blue Devils' bowl game against Arizona State on Dec. 31.

Bounces back with 83 yard outing Barkate gathered in 8 of 12 targets for 83 yards during Saturday's 49-32 victory against Wake Forest.

Impact Barkate was completely held in check in Duke's win over UNC in Week 13, but the wideout was a big target for quarterback Darien Mensah once again as Duke clinched an ACC title game appearance by toppling Wake Forest. When Barkate gets the targets, he's more than likely to produce for the Blue Devils, and there's no reason why they shouldn't keep feeding him in Charlotte on Saturday.
