Named QB1 Head coach Dabo Swinney announced that Vizzina is the No. 1 QB, per Jon Blau of The Charleston Post and Courier.
Impact Vizzina has seemingly won Clemson's starting quarterback job after having looked more impressive than Tait Reynolds throughout spring practice. Vizzina spent the past two seasons backing up Cade Klubnik and completed 64 of his 105 pass attempts for 596 yards, four touchdowns and one interception across 11 appearances.

Impact Vizzina was very solid even as Clemson suffered another ACC loss. The quarterback tossed three touchdowns with no interceptions on a sterling 69 percent completion. His only blemish was two fumbles, one of which resulted in a turnover for SMU. It's not quite time to have a quarterback controversy in Death Valley, as Cade Klubnik (ankle) doesn't appear set to miss extended time. Still, Vizzina proved the play under center won't drop off all that much with the Tigers' starter sidelined.
