Impact Norton has yet to be observed back in the practice since being carted off during the game against Charlotte. The senior running back is likely to miss this matchup but could have a chance to get on the field for the meeting against Florida Atlantic on Oct. 18.

Impact Norton got folded up awkwardly in a play late in the game and had to be carted off. Further updates on his condition should be delivered in due time, but it wouldn't be surprising if he has to miss time given the nature of the injury.

Touchdown in USF debut Norton notched seven carries for 15 yards and one touchdown and reeled in their only target for 24 yards during Thursday's 34-7 win versus Boise State.

Impact Norton was unable to produce many yards, but recorded a touchdown in his first game with the Bulls. The Charlotte transfer had a career-high seven rushing touchdowns last season and will look to bring his physical presence to USF's backfield this year.

Impact USF clearly doesn't want to give too much away with its initial two-deep, and it seems unlikely four tailbacks will share snaps and carries equally. Norton is listed as a starter alongside Sam Franklin, Alvon Isaac and Nykahi Davenport. Still, Norton figures to see plenty of work after he ran for 525 yards and seven scores with Charlotte last fall.

Impact Norton will join the Bulls following a single year with Charlotte. The junior running back ran for 525 yards and seven touchdowns for the 49ers in 2024 while adding two receptions for 13 yards through the air as well. He will retain a single year of eligibility with USF.

Impact Although Norton only gained 30 yards Saturday, he scored two touchdowns which gave him a solid performance. He has now scored multiple touchdowns in three of his last five games. He faces two very favorable matchups to end the season, starting Saturday at FAU.

Impact After receiving at least 10 carries in each of the previous five games, Norton saw just five in Thursday's blowout loss. He was also out-carried and out-rushed by Hahsaun Wilson who, with his 68 yards Thursday, is now the team's leading rusher on the season. Norton will likely still receive more carries than Wilson, but Wilson has proven to be the more efficient back.

Impact Norton scored a pair of touchdowns Saturday, his second multi-touchdown performance in the last three games. He also saw a season-high 17 carries and rushed for 86 yards, his second most this season. Norton has been very productive during the last three games, but he faces a tough matchup versus Tulane on Thursday.

Impact Norton received a season-high 16 carries Saturday, more than double the number Hahsaun Wilson saw. Norton rushed for over 50 yards in his fourth consecutive game, giving him a decent floor. However, the 49ers will be significant underdogs in each of the next two games which hurts his chances to have a big performance.

Impact Norton scored his first two touchdowns of the season Saturday, an 11-yard rush early in the first quarter and then a 62-yard run at the end of the first half. He was out-shined by Hahsaun Wilson's 164-yard, three touchdown performance, but Norton has still received a slightly higher workload so far this season. The pair of backs are clearly splitting the backfield, and Wilson has proven to have the higher upside early on.

Impact Norton received the most carries on the team Saturday and was much more productive than Hahsaun Wilson who rushed eight times for 20 yards. Norton has received 10 touches in three of four games this season, but the production simply just hasn't been there. Although he looked good on Saturday, he will need to prove it again this Saturday at Rice to be trusted for the remainder of the season.

Impact Norton rushed for just 1.1 yards per carry Saturday, a brutal way to start his 49ers career after transferring from Iowa State. It was especially rough for him given Terron Kellman (nine carries for 76 yards) and Hahsaun Wilson (five carries for 35 yards) looked much better. Even though he started in Saturday's loss, he may have lost out on that job after a rough season opener.
