Scores in blowout
Davis tallied two rushes for 13 yards and one touchdown and gathered in all three targets for 40 yards during Saturday's 66-0 victory versus Northwestern State.
Impact
Despite seeing limited opportunities, Davis made the most of his touches, averaging 7.5 yards per attempt on the ground while accounting for 40 yards on three receptions. The 6-foot-1 running back found the end zone on a seven-yard run in the second quarter, extending the already insurmountable lead in favor of the Golden Gophers. With fellow running back Darius Taylor exiting the contest with an apparent leg injury, Davis could be in line to see an expanded role moving forward if Taylor were to miss time.

Submits name into portal
Davis will enter the transfer portal, Mike Farrell of MikeFarrellSports.com reports.
Impact
Davis saw his role shrink in year four with the Huskies, tallying just 44 carries after taking 107 handoffs in 2023. The tailback figures to have one more season of eligibility remaining, and the experienced ball-carrier should have some solid offers as a one-year rental.

Won't play Thursday
Davis is not suited up for Thursday's Alamo Bowl against Washington, Mike Vorel of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact
It's unclear what's forcing Davis to miss the game, as the Huskies backfield depth will be tested with him unavailable. The redshirt junior put up career-best numbers this year, totaling 107 carries for 522 yards and a whopping 13 touchdowns in 11 games. He figures to be back in 2023 and should expect his role to increase even more.

Leads rushers in big win
Davis rushed 17 times for 69 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 39-28 win over Michigan State. He also caught one pass for eight yards.
Impact
the Spartans failed to contain Michael Penix, but they had slightly more success against the run, limiting Washington's RB corps to jus 106 yards. Davis led the effort, but it's increasingly clear that the Huskies intend to exploit their opponents through the air this season. You will see better numbers from Davis against weaker opponents, but running the ball looks like a secondary tool in their arsenal at the moment.

Returns for fall camp
Davis has been participating in fall camp and getting some first and second team reps, The Athletic reports.
Impact
Davis has not been getting a majority of reps in fall camp so far, but he has certainly been in the mix behind Wayne Taulapapa and Will Nixon. The running back had 308 rushing yards for two touchdowns as well as 115 receiving yards last season, and is looking like the team third-string running back at the beginning of camp.

Out for spring ball
Davis (undisclosed) will remain out for spring ball for the Huskies, Christian Caple of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Davis is expected to be back for camp in the fall, but he will be unavailable for the spring. The 6-foot sophomore appeared in 10 games during the 2021 season, logging 308 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 85 attempts. Davis was also active as a receiver, hauling in 14 passes for 115 yards. The sophomore will look to get ready for the start of fall camp.

Labeled Week 1 co-starter
Davis is listed alongside Richard Newton as a co-starter for the opener versus Montana, Mike Vorel of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact
Davis and Newton were reportedly the two who took most of the first-team reps during the offseason and have been anointed co-starters for the opener. While the pair should head the backfield attack Saturday, Kamari Pleasant and Sean McGrew will likely still factor in and the rotation could change down the road if Davis doesn't do his part on the ground.
