Entering transfer portal Cook is entering the NCAA's transfer portal, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports.

Impact Cook was already one of college football's best running backs before his 2025 season, and he backed up the notion with an unparalleled campaign mostly against Conference USA teams. During the year, he logged almost 300 carries for well over 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns. Cook will be one of the transfer portal's most prized running backs.

Cook is already closing in on 1,600 rushing yards and he has 15 rushing touchdowns. He will play in the conference title game next week, but then it becomes a question of if he plays in the bowl, or if he has the transfer portal on his mind. Hopefully he plays both games to see just how big his numbers can get on the season.

Impact This was an inopportune time for Cook to have his first lost fumble, as the Gamecocks were upset 27-21. Still, Cook deserves nothing but plaudits for his season. He's now up to 1,451 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground. Cook has even added 232 yards through the air.

Impact You can quibble with the level of competition, but through 10 games Cook has rushed for 1,313 yards and 13 touchdowns. He's never failed to get over 100 total yards in a game, and the TCU transfer is probably going to carry the Gamecocks to a conference title. When all is said and done, Cook will likely have the best numbers of any FBS running back.
