GAME LOG

Continuing to battle for starting role Head coach Dan Lanning revealed that Thomas will continue to compete with Dylan Raiola for the starting spot ahead of next week's matchup against Illinois, per Matt Prehm of 247Spo...
Impact Thomas was given the starting opportunity ahead of last week's contest against Nebraska, but he was pulled from the game after a rough performance. The 5-foot-11 senior was benched in favor of Raiola, who had previously had his own struggles in the starting role. The two quarterbacks will compete to continue filling in for the injured Dante Moore, who is expected to return relatively soon.

Pulled after ineffective play Thomas completed 9 of 20 passes for 54 yards and one interception during Saturday's 17-14 victory versus Nebraska.
Impact Down 14-6 against the Huskers, Oregon opted to go with Dylan Raiola after Thomas faltered over the first three quarters, and the former Nebraska starter led the team to victory. There was obvious hesitation to go with Raiola at the outset after his tepid performance against UCLA, but his play this time resembled his performance against USC. With Dante Moore (concussion) likely returning soon, Thomas and Raiola will both return to the bench when that occurs.

Likely to start in Week 7 Thomas is likely to start Saturday against Nebraska, Chris Hummer of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Thomas is trending toward a Week 7 start since Dante Moore (concussion) isn't ready to play yet and Dylan Raiola struggled in Week 6 against UCLA. Thomas has been splitting first-team reps with Raiola in practice this week, according to Pete Nakos of On3.com, but he's now expected to get the nod Saturday in what would be his first start of the season.
OCTOBER 16 • ROTOWIRE
With edge to start in Week 7 Thomas is logging first-team reps in practice with Dante Moore (concussion) out and has the edge to start in Saturday's game against Nebraska, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.
Impact Moore suffered a concussion at USC in Week 4, and Oregon's subsequent bye and an additional two weeks of rest are not enough to get the quarterback going against Nebraska. Dylan Raiola started in Week 6 against UCLA but struggled in the Ducks' upset loss, which is why he is splitting first-team reps with Thomas and Akili Smith Jr. According to Nakos' sources, Thomas has a slight edge just a day before the Ducks re-take the field, though there is still time for them to make a decision.

Helms late surge in narrow loss Thomas was 11-for-15 passing for 156 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 17-15 loss versus UCLA.
Impact Thomas entered the game after Oregon pulled Dylan Raiola, and he fared much better than his predecessor. The Bruins looked to have the game in the bag with a 17-6 lead, but Thomas engineered a dramatic drive that nearly sent the game into overtime. Despite Thomas' excellent play, the ball will go back to Dante Moore next week if he can play.

Apt pervormance as fill-in Thomas was 4-for-4 passing for 46 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 21-7 victory versus Wisconsin. He also had five rushes for negative two yards.
Impact Thomas entered the game after Dante Moore (face) went down, and he was very accurate in limited action. Moore is expected to return next week, but Thomas looks more than capable if he's ever needed in the future.
