Catches important TD vs PSU Inniss gathered in all two targets for 33 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 20-13 victory against Penn State.

Impact Inniss scored his first touchdown of the season in one of the biggest moments so far this year for the Buckeyes. The sophomore wideout hauled in quarterback Will Howard's second passing touchdown of the game early in the second quarter. Inniss did not log a catch while seeing one target across the previous two games, and he's now totaled 10 receptions (on 14 targets) this season. Meanwhile, fellow sophomore Carnell Tate has served as WR3 behind Emeka Egbuka and Jeremiah Smith this season. Expect these three to get the majority of the work during next week's home game against a lowly Purdue squad.

Logs a few more targets Saturday Inniss reeled in all three targets for 45 yards during Saturday's 56-0 win over Western Michigan.

Impact Inniss saw a slight uptick in usage after failing to haul in his lone target during the season opener versus Akron. The 6-foot sophomore also worked into the game on punt returns this week, as he's now totaled 66 return yards through two games. He also finished tied with fellow sophomore Carnell Tate for the Buckeyes' third-most targets this week. However, both fell significantly behind the team's clear top-two wideouts, Jeremiah Smith (six) and Emeka Egbuka (eight). It will be worth monitoring if Inniss can beat out Tate and senior Jayden Ballard to become the clear-cut WR3 for Ohio State this season. The team will next play versus Marshall on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Impact Inniss came to Ohio State as a highly-touted receiver, but he caught just one ball for a 58-yard score in 2023. There's still plenty of talent ahead of him in the Buckeyes' receiver room with the likes of Emeka Egbuka, Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith, but Inniss still figures to be more involved as a sophomore. Now, the wideout enters fall camp with a clean bill of health as he battles for playing time this fall.
