Asaad Waseem News, Rumors, Updates - Purdue Boilermakers

Grabs less than half of targets Waseem recorded three receptions (on eight targets) for 64 yards during Saturday's 31-17 loss to Penn State.

Impact Waseem gave Purdue its only real downfield threat in the loss at Penn State, though the Boilermakers' offense rarely had the ball long enough for him to make a bigger impact. He leads the team in receiving yards but has just one touchdown, a number that should climb if Browne can get him the ball more consistently. A home date with Maryland, whose pass defense has struggled all season, sets up well for him Saturday.

Acts as primary target for Browne Waseem compiled nine receptions (on 16 targets) for 116 yards during Friday's 38-26 loss versus Washington.

Impact Waseem could have grabbed a few more of his 16 targets, but he still managed a prolific yardage total in the loss. Waseem and Xavier Townsend provide reliable targets for Ryan Browne, and both receivers have enough room to post strong fantasy totals each week.

OCTOBER 20 • ROTOWIRE

Neutrzlized by Gophers in win Waseem posted two receptions (on three targets) for 19 yards during Saturday's 41-13 victory against Minnesota.

Impact Ryan Browne struggled to find Waseem, but the offense kept moving without him. He'll strive to get open against Washington and bounce back next week.

OCTOBER 13 • ROTOWIRE

Pulls off big totaal Waseem hauled in 3 of 4 targets for 98 yards during Saturday's 24-17 win against Illinois.

Impact Waseem made the most of his three catches, but the junior has shown he can produce far more targets. Ryan Browne will need his receiver room primed and ready against a Minnesota defense that's also coming off a surprise win, similar to Purdue.

OCTOBER 6 • ROTOWIRE

Regresses against Irish Waseem gathered in all four targets for 34 yards during Saturday's 49-10 defeat to Notre Dame.

Impact Purdue's offense wilted against an oppressive Notre Dame defense, and the roster produced no standout performances. Wasee will hope for a change in fortune against Illinois next week.

SEPTEMBER 29 • ROTOWIRE

Logs massive yardage total in loss Waseem gathered in 8 of 13 targets for 149 yards during Saturday's 52-38 loss against UCLA.

Impact Xavier Townsend had the big touchdown total, but Waseem had a monstrous game thanks to a great passing performance from Ryan Browne. While Purdue's passing game is on fire, their defense isn't cooperating, and that'll be a problem next week as they take on Notre Dame at home

SEPTEMBER 22 • ROTOWIRE

Records 68 yards in defeat Waseem hauled in all six targets for 65 yards during Saturday's 38-36 overtime defeat against Wake Forest.

Impact There are high hopes that Waseem will be a prime target for Ryan Browne after transferring from FAU, and early results suggest he's succeeding. He's already recorded 12 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown through two games.

SEPTEMBER 14 • ROTOWIRE

Grabs TD pass in blowout win Waseem tallied six receptions (on eight targets) for 107 yards and one touchdown during Friday's 44-19 victory versus Indiana State.

Impact Waseem emerged as one of Ryan Browne's favorite targets in the decisive win, which was a bit of a surprise considering the FAU transfer's position on the depth chart. Chauncey Magwood scored on his sole possession, and Xavier Townsend was the only other receiver to have a comparable impact.
